Yael has worked in arts and culture for two decades, coordinating projects and managing events that bring people together through the arts.
Yael served as Director at Large and Board President for Island Mountain Arts Society in Wells, BC (between 2006 – 2014). She is one of several founders of the ArtsWells Festival of All Things Art, and volunteered as a festival co-producer for 10 years (2003 – 2013). Yael was the Peer Perspectives Project Coordinator (2002) for the Access to Media Education Society (Vancouver), a program that utilized community-based advocacy and youth-made documentaries to explore issues of discrimination. She also worked as the Volunteer Coordinator for the first KickstArt, Festival of Disability Arts held in Vancouver (2001).
In addition to her work as an arts organizer, Yael is a musician and songwriter who has performed across Canada and produced several independent CDs. In her spare time, she manages small market garden, specializing in tomatoes.
