Workshops topics range from: Mason Jar Posies to Fresh Floral Art Jewellery and Artful Centerpieces to Hand Tied Bouquets and more. If you’d rather work with flowers in an intutive way, Ingrid offers a special retreat workshop: Working With Flower Energy, based on the Alchemy Flower Oracle. Workshops are 2 to 3 hours long and are held at Alchemy Farm. All tools, supplies, snacks and refreshments provided. No experience necessary.
Working with Flower Energy – $200 each includes Alchemy Flower Oracle Deck
This special workshop is based on the Alchemy Flower Oracle, created by Ingrid, and sister deck to the Eco Heart Oracle. The Flower Energy workshop begins with a tour of the gardens where Ingrid will share information about different flowers she grows. You will choose your own flowers to work with, and through guided meditations receive messages they carry for you. Workshops are 2 to 3 hours long and include an Alchemy Flower Oracle deck, journal, pen, snacks and refreshments provided. No experience necessary.
Ingrid Koivukangas is an award-winning environmental artist, teacher, writer and flower farmer.
My work is classified as environmental art and encompasses many mediums including site specific ephemeral and permanent works, installation, writing, video, photography, drawing and painting. I work with dreams and deep intuition in response to sites in the natural world. I am interested in issues of identity, especially indigenous cultures, including my own, nature, the environment, technology and globalization. Much of my work is an attempt to provide the viewer with a starting point to begin contemplating their own landscape and possibly their part in its preservation. My work as an environmental artist changed deeply when my husband and I started Alchemy Farm in the summer of 2015. We fell in love with the land the moment we stepped onto it. I began to grow flowers in response to finding out that the flowers I’d been buying each week were coming from tens of thousands of miles from us. I made the decision to become part of the change I want to see in the world. For three seasons I grow my own flowers at Alchemy Farm, and during the winter season I source local flowers grown within 100 miles of Salt Spring Island.
