The Council sponsors this program in partnership with the Capital Regional District. More than 30 artists’ workshops are listed in the annual Catalogue, which is supplied to all schools in the district. Teachers select those artists whose offerings best meet the interests and age range of their students.

Workshops range from instruction in clay, printmaking, textiles, and painting through music, dance, journal writing, storytelling, video and music production, poetry and lantern making. Interested artists submit applications in May for the following year’s program. The Artist in the Class Committee reviews submissions for inclusion in the catalogue. Teachers then contact the artists directly to plan for class workshops they have selected. New Deadline is May 15, 2019.

All submissions are reviewed by the AiC Committee. Artists must be valid SSAC members and undergo a Criminal Records Check. AiC applications will open in April 2019.
